White buffalos were a very rare appearance among the vast herds that once roamed the prairies of the American West. It is said that they occurred only once out of every 10 million births. They were sacred among the native tribes and often used for special rituals. This elusive creature is the star of Stake Logic’s White Buffalo Cluster Wins slot, where an Indian tribe is searching for the sacred animal in the hopes of being blessed with good luck and big fortunes. Join the search on this cluster-wins game, featuring expanded reels in the free spins and two random features that can lead to mega wins of up to 1,500x your stake on a single spin.
White Buffalo Cluster Wins is a video slot with six reels, five rows and 30 reel positions in the base game, expanding to a 6×7 size with 42 reel positions in the free spins round. Bet sizes start at a surprisingly low 0.10 credit and peak at 100 credits. The RTP of this medium variance game is set at a rather low 95.66%. The game is available for play on mobile or desktop, thanks to the HTML5 format.
A cold, snow-covered scene with an Indian camp and the aurora borealis form the backdrop to a frameless game grid. The white buffalo stands majestically on the left with a totem pole readied for a ritual in the background. He will start pawing his hooves when the random features are triggered or on a big win. A native soundtrack can be heard continuously while reel and win count sounds chime in where appropriate.
The game has eight regular pay symbols and two types of wild symbols. At the low end are clubs and hearts card suits followed in ascending order by a drum, a native pottery vase, a gold bar, and a diamond. The premium symbols are a tribe member and the white buffalo. Pays for clusters of 30 or more symbols range from 250 to 1,500 times the stake. An ice block with the character ‘W’ is the standard wild symbol, substituting for all symbols except scatters. A ‘W’ on a dreamcatcher is the special wild that can appear randomly on any spin to award a guaranteed cluster win. A two-symbol high ancient totem mask is the scatter, with minimum three needed to trigger the free spins.
The slot does not have pay lines as other standard video slots. Instead, pays are awarded for clusters of matching symbols or in combination with wild symbols. A cluster of minimum of 9 premium symbols or 10 low or medium-level symbols are needed to score a win. In the base game, the maximum cluster size is 30 symbols while in the free spins that increases to 42 symbols.
White Buffalo Cluster Wins comes with two random features that can be triggered in the base game and free spins. Both will apply reel modifiers to provide a higher potential for bigger winning clusters.
The Shooting Star feature can be randomly triggered on any winning spin. A shooting star will land on a symbol adjacent to the winning cluster and transform all other matching symbols on the reels into the symbol from the winning cluster to potentially create a larger cluster combination.
The Extra Wild feature can be triggered on any spin, win or lose. Wild symbols will replace random reel positions and guarantee a winning cluster for the spin. The game will keep adding wild symbols until a winning clusters occurs.
Hit three totem mask scatters anywhere on the reels in one spin to trigger an initial 10 free spins. The two-symbol high scatters don’t have to be in full view. More free spins can be won during the feature. Two or three partial or full scatters will add two and three extra spins respectively.
The game leads to a new screen with flames burning blazing in the background and the tribe member drumming during a ritual. The game window will increase from the standard 6×5 size to a 6×7 format, providing the extra potential to hit bigger winning clusters. Both random features can be triggered during the free spins.
Stake Logic has shown in the past that it can produce some awesome slots. King Bam Bam, Hardwell and Bank or Prank are just some of the best releases. All come with crisp graphics, novel pay mechanics and fun gameplay. After testing White Buffalo Cluster Wins extensively, we are not really sure that this creation is on par with the best from Stake Logic. The first that supports our impression is the sometimes extremely long wait to trigger the free spins. No problem if they pay well 9/10 times but that was not the case on this slot. Maybe it was just bad luck, but we are not fans of games with such scenarios where after one hour wait the bonus round can pay less than 10x the bet.
The second issue for us were the random features. Although they were triggering often enough, they rarely produced a big win. The results were mostly in the 1x to 10x bet bracket. Other than that, the game can be fun to play with decent graphics and animations as well as the occasional big win.
