Join the fabled detective on the slot from 1×2 Gaming for a special reel investigation that can lead to wins of up to 1,000 times your bet on a single spin. Sherlock’s Casebook comes with wild substitutions, expanding wilds and a free spins round with semi-sticky wilds.
Sherlock’s Casebook is a video slot with five reel, three rows and 25 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. You can join the detective on desktop or mobile from 0.25 to 100 credits per spin. The medium variance game has an RTP of exactly 96%.
Set in the streets of London on a foggy night where the fictional character and his assistant Dr Watson solved some of the most difficult criminal cases, the translucent game window is populated with typical items and the characters from the novel. An orchestral piece provides the main audio and is only interrupted by the usual scatter thumps and win count noises.
Open the game to find the card royals from J to A at the low end of the paytable, awarding 1x to 2x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by Sherlock’s hat, pipe, violin, pistol and magnifying glass. Hit five on a line to win 6x to 32x your stake. The top payer is a street sign for Sherlock’s fictional home address, 221 Baker Street, paying 40x your bet for a 5OAK.
Sherlock himself is the expanding wild, appearing in the base game and free spins as well as substituting for all regular pay symbols. Dr Watson is the semi-sticky wild in the free spins round which is triggered by hitting at least three Mrs Hudson scatters.
Much of the potential on this game comes from the Sherlock Expanding Wilds. The can land on any reel in the base game or free spins and will expand to cover the entire reel to provide extra potential to score wins.
Hitting three, four or five scatters will trigger 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively, which cannot be retriggered. During the feature, Dr Watson wilds can land on any reel. They will not expand but will stay sticky for the next spin. No other multipliers or modifiers are available in the bonus round.
Well, this is surely not the most exciting slot I ever had to review and most probably will not end up on my favourites list. It is just burdensome to play with the expanding wild often not connecting to any wins and Dr Watson hardly ever appearing in the bonus round. Overall, you can hit 1,000 times your bet when you are lucky enough to land five Sherlock wilds in a spin but don’t count on that to happen so easily.
